Welcome! I'm Mary May!

I am a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. I am grateful to share Nonviolent Communication (NVC) through online courses and locally in Northwest Indiana.

Practicing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has supported my ability to articulate and honor the needs of all while connecting with others in a way that supports all of our thriving. This gives me hope for peace, love, and care for all people and our planet.

My background in education, as well as being a parent of two daughters, supports my focus and passion for working with parents and those who work with children. I am pleased to collaborate with the Northwest Indiana Sociocracy Center and other local community organizations to support resilience in our region.

Offerings

Foundations of Trust and Connection

This 14-week Foundations-level course is co-taught with parent coach Holly Storm of Harmony Parenting. This course is typically offered twice a year and you are invited to join the growing community of our Continuation Program after completing it.

Parent Peer Leadship Program

The PPLP is a 11-month program co-lead by three Certified Trainers with the Center for Nonviolent Communication: Ingrid Bauer, Stephanie Bachmann Mattei (also an Assessor) and Mary May. It is aimed at nurturing and developing leaders who are committed to spreading Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to parents, teachers and youth-serving professionals in their communities, especially in those regions where there are no NVC trainers.

Northwest Indiana Sociocracy Center

I am grateful to collaborate with the Northwest Indiana Sociocracy Center. Sociocracy is a governance system used to run meetings more efficiently, effectively and inclusively. It ensures every voice is heard and enables better decision-making power for groups.
